I had dinner with Virginia, Francisco, Gema, and her husband Carlos. It was also delicious (pictures below) and we had some hilarious dinner conversations. We had an English learning session where I tried to teach them a little bit of English. They were all making fun of each others accents. Francisco loves beer, has it with each meal and always offers it to me. Since I don't like beer he asked me what kinds of drinks I do like. I told him I liked Sangria and he said he used to be a bartender so he is going to make me some and teach me how to make it so I can make it for my friends back in America. He was so excited to show me his old photo album with pictures of him as a bartender. I decided to show him some pictures of my family and friends back in America. We had some good laughs together and he said he is going to take me out for churros and chocolate in the morning.
This evening I explored the Sevillan nightlife. They are a bit wild out here. They don't start going out until around 1 to 2 AM and many stay out until past 5 AM. This is crazy to me. My bedtime is usually no latter than 1. I have a lot to get used to. Thankfully, I've got some Madison friends here who I know I can count on to stick with me and keep me safe (Shout out to Sara, Rachael, Becca and Sheila). You guys all rock. In addition to my wonderful Madison friends, I've made lots of new friends from other universities across the US. In the upcoming weeks I hope to meet more Spaniards and practice my Spanish with them. All is well in Sevilla and the thought of having to leave here in 4 months is already making me sad. Enough of this sadness, Rebecca, you're in Sevilla for 4 more months! (apologies for the third person blogging).
Sending Smiles from Sevilla,
Rebecca
See that yellow apartment on the right, with balconies lined with blue flower pots? That is where I will eventually be living. (It's perfect and conveniently located across from the delicious gelato shop).
Meet the fam! Virginia, myself, Gema, and Francisco! (Paco was not here, and Carlos (Gema's husband) is taking the picture.
Lunch was great! Rice soup, cauliflower and red peppers sautéed with garlic, and chicken! All delicious!
I also very much enjoyed dinner! Tortilla Espanola (potato and egg type thing on the right), chicken croquetas (left top corner), salad, bread, cheese, chicken. I tried so many new things and liked them all!
