Cordoba

Today I went on a day trip to Cordoba with CIEE. Even though I was still not feeling 100% better I enjoyed the trip! Cordoba is about 2 hours away from Sevilla and the same river that runs through Sevilla runs through Cordoba as well! Except, the river in Sevilla is clean and the river in Cordoba was brown and muddy!

We started the day off with a tour of the Mesquita (Mosque). It was huge!! The mesquita was filled with columns and double arches, it was so beautiful! Also, it is the only mosque with a cathedral inside of it! Then we went to see the old restored Synagogue. It was sooooooo small. Like one room about the size of my bedroom. and all that was in it was one menorah. Slightly disappointed by this, but hey, now I can say I went to the synagogue (even though it wasn't a service).

After that we took a tour of the Alcazar. This was a big palace very similar to the alcazar in Sevilla. I really liked the gardens here, there were a lot of fountains and it was absolutely beautiful!

Then I wandered around for the rest of the day with some friends! We stumbled upon this Zumeria (Juice bar). We all got milkshake/smoothie/juices! The guy made them with all fresh fruits and they were very yummy! Mine had vanilla ice cream, fresh juiced apples and bananas in it! So good!

Then we got back on the bus and headed home! When we got back to Sevilla I went to cien and had a euro motadito with some friends! Then home to Virginia for dinner and a relaxing evening! :)

Sending Smiles From Sevilla,

Rebecca
