There's a bird on my head

I finally got my butt out of bed this morning to go on a run! No more excuses, this needs to happen more often, and hopefully writing this in my blog will make me feel a little more accountable!

I then went on a tour of the Plaza de Espana and Parque Maria Luisa. I had already been to those spots a few times, but the history nerd in me wanted to go on the tour to learn more about them! At the end of the tour in the park, the guide showed us a special pigeon section, where there are a TON of pigeons and people sell seeds so you can feed them! Being a lover of all animals, I couldn't resist. As soon as I was handed the bag of seeds by the lady I was SWARMED by pigeons. On my head, on my arms, on my shoulders, on my chest, there were birds on top of birds. It was insane and I thought they were going to eat me alive. But I'm still here, writing this post, and to be honest I'll probably go back next week and feed them again!

I came home for lunch with Virginia and Francisco and then took a siesta!

I've been having a craving lately...If you know me, you know I love to bake! I have been deprived baking privileges while here... here's why:

THEY DON'T BAKE (they just go to bakeries and buy their treats). I went to at least 4 grocery stores this week looking for baking soda, chocolate chips, pudding, etc.. they don't have it. Virginia told me that El Corte Ingles should have what I'm looking for so I decided to go there today. I got there and asked an employee where I could find the ingredients to make cookies, she brought me to the section with box mixes. I don't do box mixes. I explained to her that I want to make the cookies by hand and she was able to help me find butter, vanilla, flour and sugar and that's about it. I bought these ingredients thinking I could put together something. I improved and decided to make some form of a cookie dough ball, however, I got home to find out that Virginia doesn't own measuring cups (and even if she did they would be in the metric system). So I decided to wing it and do a dash a this, a pinch of that, and wa-la! They actually turned out pretty good! Since I couldn't find chocolate chips, I used M&Ms instead.

It was a friend's birthday this evening so we went for some Tapas and drinks by the river! It was a chill night and I am looking forward to a long Hike in the morning!

Sending Smiles From Sevilla,

Rebecca
