Smoking is Prohibited

Smoking is Prohibited... yeah, that's not a thing here. It's more like "Smoking is Encouraged."

Yeah, I expected people in Europe to smoke, but this is kind of ridiculous. I swear just about every single person here smokes! I can say with certainty that people smoking around me is one of my biggest pet peeves, so it's definitely been an adjustment trying to have conversations with people while they are smoking and the smoke is blowing in my face.

Tonight, I went to Cien Montaditos with some friends because everything on the menu is a Euro on Wednesdays, so I had a glass of tinto de verano. I was very determined to meet spaniards, as this had been one of my goals for the week. I had a great conversation going and then, what do ya know, the cigarettes come out. I really need to learn to get over the fact that everyone here smokes. I talked to 3 different spaniards tonight and they all started smoking mid-conversation! Whyyyyyyyyy?

Culture? Everyone says it's a part of their culture. Well, I'm not a fan of culture that causes lung cancer.

Biggest group yet! Intense awesome workout this morning with these fabulous people!

Lunch: Arroz! (Rice) with some peppers and onions mixed in

A froyo treat after class! This was a greatttt find! Only 1 Euro (+50 cents for the Nutella topping--completely worth it!)

Dinner: LOOK AT THOSE PEPPERS. Seriously my favorite thing. And the leftover oil/ salt mixture is perfect for dipping the bread in! Virginia also made a pizza with eggplant and peppers, delicious as well! I think it's funny because she doesn't use shreaded cheese on the pizza, but rather cheese singles cut into pieces and placed on top... haha, still tastes good to me!
